A Machine Polisher (sometimes called a 'buffer') is a power tool used for Paint Correction. Use a polisher to apply compounds and polishes, allowing you to remove swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation far more effectively than by hand. This guide explains the two main types—Dual-Action and Rotary—and how to select the correct backing plate for the job.
Select the right machine polisher for your skill level and paint correction goals.
The Backing Plate is the polisher accessory that connects the machine to the polishing pad. Match your backing plate to your pad size.
Use the Velcro-hook face to grip your polishing pad. Most modern plates are vented or flexible (made of urethane) to dissipate heat and prevent pad delamination (failure).
Use a small (3-inch) backing plate to polish tight areas like A-pillars, mirrors, and bumpers. Use a larger (5-inch or 6-inch) backing plate to correct large, flat panels like hoods, roofs, and doors efficiently.

Let me start off by saying I love all the products they car from Auto Detail to 360! I met Robert back in March when I started working for Wondries! I had used the 360 Brazilian mist before and I never knew he owed the place! I started talking to him more about other products they also carry. I completely switched over from chemical guys to Auto Detail and 360 ! That was the best decision I could have ever Made ! I highly recommend using them VERY FRIENDLY AND FAMILY OWNED BUSINESS !!!!
I loved this place! The girl who helped me behind the counter was very nice and very informative. She helped answer all of my questions. She even recommended a few things. I purchased a 150 gallon water tank and the boss (I assume he was the boss), was very helpful in helping me load it in the truck.
